diplomaChiropractic is a safe and effective form of care for back and neck pain and also for a range of other conditions including shoulder, leg and arm pain, and sports injuries. You may also see an improvement in some types of asthma, headaches, including migraine, and infant colic.

Chiropractors treat problems with joints, bones and muscles, not just backs. Treatment may consist of a wide range of manipulation techniques (many very gentle) designed to improve the function of the joints, relieving pain and muscle spasm. The chiropractor may also use dry needling. This combines modern western 'Trigger Point' theories with traditional Chinese acupuncture to stimulate acupuncture points, creating a small inflammatory reaction and thus stimulating the body's own pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory mechanisms.

Sian, chiropractorDuring your initial consultation and treatment the chiropractor will take a full medical history, consider and appraise your entire body and then, if appropriate, commence treatment focusing on underlying causes rather than exclusively on your symptoms or painful area. For example a lower back problem can result in problems and pain in the neck or upper back. For our first apointment we allow up to two hours. 30 to 45 minutes is normal for any further treatment.
