An exciting game played on a court fully enclosed by netting.

THE RULES

The rules of Action Cricket are based on those of outdoor cricket, except that the nets become an integral part of the game – the ball always remains in play, which adds to the fun and excitement of the game.
We have developed the game of Action Cricket and its rules, which are exclusive to our Arena.

We pride ourselves on our professionalism and attention to detail to ensure that you and your team enjoy every minute of every game.

Action Cricket is a limited over’s game with six players – 12 over’s or eight players – 16 over’s in a team.
When fielding, each player, including the wicketkeeper, bowls two over’s and when batting, each batting pair faces four over’s. If you are ‘OUT’ when batting you do not leave the court, instead your side loses either 3 runs or 5 runs depending on the format of the game being played.

INDOOR CRICKET WORLD CUP Sept 2007

Action Indoor Sports Whitchurch held the Indoor Cricket World Cup in September 2007, hosting 9 countries, and 340 players. This was a great success, and although England did not win, the experience gained by our players was hugely beneficial.
England have competed in several Indoor Cricket World Cups in the past, but this was only the second to be held in this country, and it is hoped that now that the players have access to the type world class facilities, which have been available in other parts of the world for many years, they will improve in leaps and bounds.

LEAGUES

We are currently running very active Cricket leagues on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights, and the competition is very keen.

Indoor Cricket can be played on a social level but if players are interested, teams compete in regular weekly leagues with Finals weekends every 12 weeks, where the Winners of all leagues are decided on the same day when the atmosphere is electric.

All umpiring and cricket equipment is supplied but of course players can bring personal equipment for their own use.

PLAYERS AND SPECTATORS

One of the main benefits of Action Indoor Sports is the social interaction between players and spectators, which is now rife, with Grandparents, Grandchildren, Mum’s and Dad’s, and friends making use of our excellent bar and restaurant facilities!

Action Junior Cricket

Action Junior Cricket is a modified version of the outdoor code. Played in nets - this cricket is ideal for kids, as play is compact and players can learn valuable skills while enjoying a fast moving active game.

Both Action Cricket 6 plus and Super 8's provide a high scoring simplistic format to keep the players interest. Action Junior Cricket is played all year round so cricket players can keep their cricket skills sharp and of course as it's played indoors - no games are ever cancelled!
